A few words
About us
The J. T. Clark Family Foundation was established in 1999 as a natural progression in the continuing philanthropy of the J.T. Clark Family. The J.T. Clark Family Foundation is funded by John and Wilma Clark (1929 – 2019), members of their family, associated companies and is strongly reflective of the founder’s philosophy.
The J.T. Clark Family Foundation continues a long tradition of the Clark Family, going back more than 100 years, of supporting charitable causes which positively impact the quality of life of our citizens. The primary concern is assisting charitable organizations within New Brunswick, particularly Fredericton and St. Andrews, however, not to the exclusion of other Atlantic Provinces.

David J Wilson, of Fredericton, NB, passed peacefully at home on August 22, 2019, surrounded by the love of “his three girls,” wife Liz, and daughters Jodie and Heather. Born in Fredericton, December 27, 1940, David attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated in Civil Engineering (1963). It was there where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Paterson). They married in 1963 and lived in London, Ontario as David attended Western University for an MBA (1965).
In 1970, David, became President of Wilson Insurance, succeeding his father W Hedley Wilson who started the business in 1930. In 2011, David handed over the reins to his daughter Heather, and together with their team, they continued to build the business. He was still actively involved, even one week ago, opening the office by 6:30am.
David’s long and loyal community involvement helped make Fredericton and area a better place to live, work and play. He volunteered in excess of 300 hours annually for various causes and held significant community roles serving as board member and Chair of Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation, the Miramichi Salmon Association (MSA), YMCA of Fredericton, Christ Church Cathedral, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, and United Way.
